Recent Graduates' Weekend
(previously the Old Boys' Weekend)
The main event the JCR runs for its recently graduated students is the annual Recent Graduates' Weekend. It takes place in mid-November and invites recent graduates back to college for a weekend of frivolities including a formal dinner, a night of karaoke and a good ol' catch up! We strongly recommend that you book your place as soon as the date for the event is announced, as space for the meal is limited. However, the event is not exclusively for graduates of the previous year; for more information on the next Recent Graduates' Weekend please contact the JCR President (email@example.com).
Aidan's at the Head of the River Race 2016
Following on from the inaugural Head of the River event in 2016, the Alumni Association is going to be organising another get-together on the Thames in 2017, but this time for the Women’s Head of the River (WeHoRR). As before it will be an informal event open to all Aidan's Alumni and current students (plus family and friends). Exact plans are still to be confirmed, but the race is scheduled to take place on Saturday 11th March 2017. More details will appear here or alternatively check out the Alumni Associations website.
2017 Reunion Weekend: 70th Anniversary of St Aidan's College
The last reunion organised by the Association was back in 2012. Following that it was decided to have a break and refocus on the College's next significant milestone - its 70th Anniversary. This will be 2017 and a date has now been set for it:
Friday 7th to Sunday 9th July 2017
The Association's newly elected Reunions committee are just starting work on preparing a full program of events for the weekend, but no doubt the centrepiece will be a formal dinner in College on the Saturday night. We want to do whatever it takes to get as many of you as possible up to Durham for the reunion. So please let us know what it would take to get you and your alumni friends to come. Send your suggestions to us using the contact details below. As it is being held outside term time there will be plenty of rooms available in College, including ensuite rooms. Of course, you may prefer one of Durham's fine hotels, but sadly the Three Tuns is no longer an option haing closed down a few years ago. Unlike recent reunions there is no particular target cohort - we would like to welcome alumni from throughout St Aidan's 70 year history. As further details emerge we will be putting them up on our website, and also on the Association's new Facebook page and Twitter feed. In the meantime if you have any questions or suggestions please contact the Reunions team using the contact details below. Looking forward to seeing you all in July 2017.
