Hey all,

The JCR will be moving banks over the summer from Natwest. If you have a cheque from a JCR or committee reimbursing you for something or your shop wages then make sure you cash them BEFORE 31ST JULY. Any cheques you try to cash after this date may not go through and you may be charged by your bank for this. Any cheques you can't cash before then return to me at the start of next year and I will arrange something for you.

So here we are, the last email I'll ever send out to college. For some this may be the last email you get to your Durham accounts, for others you'll get this in October when you remember to check DUO again. For everyone though, thanks for a great year and being part of such an amazing college. Anything I can say is cliche, but I've really had the time of my life here, and if it gets better after this I'll count myself lucky.

Thanks to everyone who's attended the formals this year, you managed a higher attendance than any year on record (which is about 3 years). Thanks to everyone on my committee, and to those on the Exec for being such a good team over the year. Good luck to everyone who's still here to run the place next year, especially to Pinski as President and Doug/Scott Long who takes over from me.

Just a quick one to tick off one of my final tasks; if you're moving out over the next few days and have college crockery or cutlery in your room please either:

• Return it to the servery (or the dining hall if the servery is closed) no questions asked.
• Leave it on the worktops in your nearest kitchen and I'll bring it back to the servery and save your lazy ass the effort ;)

The more missing stuff gets returned, the less the JCR will get charged, and the less you'll pay in damages (especially relevant if you're going to live in again in future) and will have more money to spend on other stuff (bar refurb woo!)

That's right everyone. At the General Meeting yesterday a motion was passed on a general aye to have a referendum on re-affiliation during Epiphany Term next year.

We will definitely disaffiliate during the calender year 2011, which means next years freshers won't get NUS on their campus cards (but you keep your discounts if you don't loose your card). If we vote to re-affiliate we will do so in January 2012. This is at least the understanding at present but as you might have guessed it's all politics so perhaps subject to change. 

Any questions just email dsu@st-aidans.com or ask me if you see me, but if freshers next year want to know what on earth is going on, hopefully you'll be able to explain :-)

Hi Guys,

Due to the lousy weather and a few minor technical difficulties the garden party is postponed until tomorrow afternoon (Sunday). We'll be ready and raring to go though with just the same delights when the sun comes out and everything decides to work again! If not, we'll have a hell of a lot of cake for sale in the JCR.. every cloud eh?
