Sub-Executive Officers are often in charge of their own committees, but their jobs are slightly less demanding than those of the Executive and therefore, they do not sit on the Executive Committee (the student representative decision making body).
The Senior Freshers' Rep is responsible for organising and coordinating (in conjunction with the JCR President) Freshers’ Week. This is the person who decides the theme for the week, what activities the JCR puts on for Freshers, makes sure that every Fresher feels welcome and knows exactly what is going on with regards to their department and college. They also organise the Post-Application Open Days designed to give prospective students a taste for what being a Durham student is like.
The Music Coordinator is responsible for all things musical at Aidan's. Their job is to maintain the college Music Room and ensure that it is a communal and accessible place. They also facilitate a wide range of musical endeavours, either from individuals groups or fully-fledged societies. The Drama Coordinator is responsible for all things theatrical at Aidan’s. Their job is to run Aidan's production company ACT (Aidan’s College Theatre) and ensure that there is at least one theatrical performance put on by Aidan’s each term. The Arts Coordinator is responsible for all things Arty at Aidan’s. Their job is to encourage people to get involved with art at Aidan’s by putting on various arty events during the year such as life drawing. They also coordinate Team Art and help our various committees with any art work they have for an upcoming event. The IT Officer is the person to speak to you if you are having any IT-related problems, hardware or software (even if they cannot fix it they will know who to get in touch with). They are extremely capable when it comes to deciphering the CIS mainframe and can easily get you connected to the internet in college. They are also responsible for maintenance and upkeep of the JCR website.
The Tech Chair heads and convenes Team Tech. They are responsible for ensuring our tech equipment is up to date, as well as permitting it to be rented out to other colleges for a small fee. They also make ensure that there is always a team of volunteers available to run the technical aspects of major college events.
